The 1st Generation MagneShockTM is an Electrically Controllable, "single adjustable" shock. It's instantly and infinitely adjustable by simply changing the current sent to the shock. It's easily hooked up to any car's electrical system and takes less current than a miniature light bulb. It has no moving valves or other internal parts - everything is controlled electrically by simply varying a magnetic field inside the shock absorber. This first version of the MagneShockTM provides infinite adjustment of both rebound & compression damping simultaneously. It maintains its 50/50 ratio over an extraordinary range, from a low of a #4 "valving" all the way up to a #9 "valving".
The MagneShockTM contains Magneto-Rheological Fluid ("MR" fluid) and is produced under an exclusive licensing agreement with the Lord Corporation and Carrera Patent Pending. MR fluids are suspensions of micron-sized, magnetizable particles in an oil. Normally, MR fluids are free flowing liquids having a consistency similar to that of motor oil. However, when a magnetic field is applied the apparent viscosity virtually instantly changes, and can become as thick as cold peanut butter. The degree of change is proportional to the magnitude of the applied magnetic field and the resulting damping force, (or resistance to movement) is proportional to the viscosity.
The MagneShockTM requires no plumbing, canisters or difficult-to-route hoses as it is controlled electrically with a magnetic field. All you need is a wire to the controller and a wire from the controller to each shock. The inherent operating simplicity guarantees repeatability, setting to setting and shock to shock.	It's easily hooked up to any car's electrical system and takes less current than a miniature light bulb.
The MagneShockTM is fade-free and insensitive to viscosity change in the base oil. The controller box can be mounted in the cockpit for instant adjustments during the race, or any other place to comply with track rules. You can preset the shock(s) and switch between presets manually or by any other external signal. The shocks can be adjusted individually or in pairs (left to right, front to rear or diagonally). Only one set of shocks is needed, because they can be adjusted to any track or track conditions.
